Accounting:
लेखांकन का मुख्य उद्देश्य एक निर्दिष्ट अवधि के दौरान लाभ या हानि का पता लगाना, किसी विशेष तिथि पर व्यवसाय की वित्तीय स्थिति को दिखाना और फर्म की संपत्ति पर नियंत्रण रखना है। दूसरे शब्दों में, एक खाता किसी व्यक्ति, संपत्ति, देनदारी, व्यय या आय से संबंधित सभी लेनदेन का एक व्यवस्थित रिकॉर्ड है। खाते को A/C भी कहा जाता है. व्यवसाय की आय को मापने और जानकारी संप्रेषित करने के लिए ऐसे लेखांकन रिकॉर्ड बनाए रखना आवश्यक है। ताकि इसका उपयोग प्रबंधकों, मालिकों और अन्य पक्षों द्वारा किया जा सके।
Double Entry System:
हमने पहले देखा है कि प्रत्येक व्यावसायिक लेन-देन के दो पहलू होते हैं, अर्थात्, जब हम कुछ प्राप्त करते हैं तो हम देते हैं। बदले में कुछ और. उदाहरण के लिए, जब हम नकद में सामान खरीदते हैं, तो हम सामान प्राप्त करते हैं और बदले में नकद देते हैं, उसी तरह सामान की क्रेडिट बिक्री में, सामान ग्राहक को दिया जाता है और ग्राहक उसे बेचे गए सामान की संख्या के लिए देनदार बन जाता है। प्रत्येक लेन-देन को दो खातों में लिखने की इस पद्धति को दो खातों के लेखांकन की दोहरी प्रविष्टि प्रणाली के रूप में जाना जाता है, एक खाते में डेबिट दिया जाता है जबकि दूसरे खाते में बराबर राशि क्रेडिट दी जाती है। इस प्रकार, किसी भी तारीख को, सभी डेबिट का कुल योग सभी क्रेडिट के योग के बराबर होना चाहिए क्योंकि प्रत्येक डेबिट में एक समान क्रेडिट होता है।
